Happy Birthday Brendan!

Today is Brendan's 7th birthday. He is growing up so fast, it just seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. He has been counting down for this day for weeks. He is also excited for Saturday. I asked him last month what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said "if we are celebrating it I want to go to Knott's Berry Farm, but if we are not I want to go to John's Incredible Pizza." Every year on their birthday the kids get to pick what they want to do for dinner and I think that is what he meant about going to John's Incredible Pizza. So on Saturady we will be taking Brendan and his friend Grant to Knott's, it should be a lot of fun.

I took cupcakes to Brendan's class today to celebrate his birthday. Mr. Pofal called him to the front and the class sang Happy Birthday to him, he was a little embarrassed. And here he is enjoying one of his cupcakes.

Brendan had outgrown his smaller quad, so Dennis was able to get a bigger one during Kawasaki's loan pool. We decided to surprise him with it. Little does Brendan know that he went with Dennis almost a month ago to the dealership to sign the paperwork for the bike. When we took him out to the trailer tonight to surprise him he thought it was just another bike that Dennis had borrowed from work, imagine his surprise when he realized that it was all his. For a while now Brendan has been telling Dennis he wanted to have a light on his bike like ours so he can ride it at night. To Brendan's surprise Dennis specially mounted a light on the front of this bike for him. He was so excited and can't wait to go riding.

Here is Brendan and Madison enjoying Brendan's cupcakes. Brendan and Madison insisted we all sing Happy Birthday again to him. This was Brendan's 2nd cupcake, oh well it's his birthday. Madison of course only ate the frosting and threw away the rest.

Happy 7th Birthday!

Madison's 1st Day of School

Well it was Madison's turn to start her new class. This is her second year in preschool at Bethel Christian School. Her new teacher is Mrs. Morgan. Madison was excited to start her new class and see her friends that had not been coming during the summer. She is growing up so fast. She is eager every night to be like her big brother and do homework. Last year she enjoyed working out of a workbook while Brendan did his homework. Lately I have wanted to work with her on writing her letters properly so I went to a school supply store this week and bought special writing paper with big lines so she can practice writing them. She is following in her brother's footsteps with enjoying homework. Brendan always liked doing homework in preschool and I think it has made a difference in elementary school, so I am glad she is eager to do it not so hopefully it won't be a fight when she is in elementary school.

Brendan's 1st Day of School

Here is Brendan all ready for his first day in 2nd grade. His teacher is named Mr. Pofal. And for all those people who said I said I should let him keep his mowhawk, as you can see I gave in and let him. But it is definitely coming off before school pictures! Brendan was excited about going back to school and seeing all his friends. Dennis bought him a Kawasaki Monster backpack which he was very excited about. Well it's back to the fun of doing homework again, yeah.

Is that Poncherello?

Dennis did his yearly Downed Officers ride with his dad and low and behold who did they run into, Ponch (Erik Estrada). He was the Grand Marshal this year for the event. Erik Estrada was more than willing to pose with Dennis and Mark (Dennis' co-worker).

Brendan's New Hairstyle

Brendan actually got his hair cut like this a few weeks ago but the mowhawk wasn't as distinct. Dennis cut it again last night and Brendan wanted him to put gel in it and have his mowhawk stick up for church today. Brendan and Dennis have been wanting to have a mowhawk for a long time and I finally gave in, but it is supposed to come off when school starts next month.

Brendan's New Bike

Dennis was able get a bigger bike for Brendan through the Kawasaki loan pool. He picked it up today. Shh! It's a surprise for his birthday. What Brendan doesn't know is that he was with Dennis when they signed all the paperwork for the bike, pretty sneaky.

Happy 4th of July!

My cousin and her 2 kids were visiting for a couple of weeks from back east so on July 4th we all got together at my parents house and barbequed. The kids enjoyed swimming and doing different tricks off the diving board.

Brendan doing his little karate move off the diving board.

Victoria was showing off her cannonball, while Stephen was doing a crazy jump off too.

After a day of swimming we all went to Tustin High School to watch a firework show. We got there so early to get a good seat, the kids were sure getting anxious. The show was worth the wait, the kids really enjoyed it.
